About the opportunity

In this role, you can expect to work closely with our experts and in coordination with our Australian instrumentation team. Reporting to the local team leader, this position requires a balance of technical skills and hands on site work on the east coast of Australia.

You’ll work within our successful geotechnical practice on a wide range of civil, mining, and environmental projects.

 

You’ll be involved in scoping projects, cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting targets. You’ll be involved in installations, operations, maintenance, and review, interpretation, analysis of data, and present quality results and reports.  

 

About you

As a qualified geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist you’ll ideally have some knowledge in the discipline of geotechnical and structural monitoring for mining and civil infrastructure projects.

 

You’ll have some experience in commissioning, operation, and management of monitoring sites; in selection, procurement and installation of instrumentation; and in review and interpretation of monitoring data and the reporting of results.

 

In summary, the key criteria for success are:

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering; Engineering Geology
  • Ideally, you'll have geotechnical instrumentation experience, surface-based monitoring systems to monitor stability (Inclinometer, extensometer, survey prisms, Piezometer etc.).  If you are not familiar with instrumentation, we are happy to train you on this
  • Ideally have some GIS experience
  • A full driver's license is essential
  • A visa to work in Australia is also essential
