About the opportunity

In this role, you can expect to be a hands-on project manager with primary responsibility to manage geotechnical and structural monitoring projects of various sizes. Reporting to the local team leader, you'll manage a small team of engineers, technicians and surveyors. 

You’ll work within our successful geotechnical practice on a wide range of civil, mining, and environmental projects.

You’ll have responsibility for scoping projects, cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling and meeting targets and deadlines. You’ll be involved across installations, operations, maintenance, review, interpretation and analysis of data, and present quality results and reports to clients.  

 

About you

As a qualified geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist you’ll have experience in the discipline of geotechnical and structural monitoring for civil infrastructure and mining projects.

You’ll have some experience in commissioning, operation, and management of monitoring sites, in selection, procurement and installation of instrumentation, and in review and interpretation of monitoring data and the reporting of results.

In summary, the key criteria for success are:

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering; Engineering Geology
  • You'll have 10+ years in geotechnical instrumentation experience, surface-based monitoring systems to monitor stability (Inclinometer, extensometer, survey prisms, Piezometer etc.).  
  • Ideally have GIS experience
  • Familiar with Australian Standards
  • A full driver's license is essential
  • A visa to work in Australia is also essential
